What is Reiki?
Reiki is growing in popularity. In this practice, the therapist places his or
her hands in a series of very light touches at various positions on the client's
body. Reiki is not a massage, but a channeling of life force energy to the
recipient.
Clients who receive reiki treatments often claim to have been helped with:
- Relaxation
- Pain relief
- Stress management
- Anxiety
- Surgery recovery
- Chemotherapy treatments
- Depression
- Headaches
- Fibromyalgia
- Arthritis
Many scientific studies have shown benefits for energy healing practices.
Benefits include decreased anxiety, decreased pain, and an improved sense of
well-being. Based on the current positive indications of these studies, the National
Institutes of Health is now funding further, rigorous clinical trials at major
scientific centers.
